    Coined as the “Copper City” during the Industrial Revolution, historic Rome is located about 49 minutes from Syracuse and is home to activities that fit all interests.

    Parks and Nature Trails

    GRIFFISS INTERNATIONAL SCULPTURE GARDEN AND NATURE TRAIL
    Impressive sculptures, like “Nature’s Wrath,” “Crown,” and “Freya,” maintain your interest as you walk through an extensive nature path filled with art and biodiversity.

    DELTA LAKE STATE PARK
    The park is situated on a peninsula that stretches into the Delta Reservoir, and visitors can take advantage of picnic areas, nature trails, fishing, camping sites, and beaches. In the winter, you can trek along its cross-country ski trails.

    COLLINS FARM AND CREAMERY
    Stop into Collins Farm and Creamery and shop its self-serve farm store for maple milk, cheese curds, or beef straight from its herd.

    Zoos

    FORT RICKEY DISCOVERY ZOO
    Fort Rickey offers engagement through feeding and petting areas, animal shows, and a maternity ward with baby goats. Children can also get lost in their giant tube and tunnel maze with ball crawl or stay active on their slides.

    ROME SPORTS HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM
    The Rome Sports Hall of Fame and Museum celebrates the city’s athletic legacy. See its collection of historical artifacts from May to September (or set up an appointment via phone or email).

    WOODS VALLEY SKI AREA
    The Woods Valley Ski Area is celebrating its 60th season. Skiers and snowboarders of all levels can come here to take a lesson, experience the joy of snow tubing, purchase a lift ticket to enjoy the slopes, or even use it as your magical wedding venue.

    Entertainment

    CAPITOL ARTS COMPLEX
    Enjoy your entertainment through a variety of movies, live events, and concerts.

    Museums and Historic Sites

    ROME HISTORICAL SOCIETY
    Learn about the history of Rome through its many programs and permanent and rotating exhibits.

    SEARS OIL CO. MUSEUM
    Built in 1930, the gas station ceased operations in 1974. It has since been restored and houses antique pumps and other artifacts.
