Gingerbread Gallery

Did you know the Gingerbread Gallery began as one-day event in 1986? Now an annual event, the Museum transforms into a charming 1800s canal town decked out for the holidays. From November 21 through January 11, visitors can stroll past windows filled with whimsical gingerbread creations—each one handcrafted entirely from edible materials and inspired by canal life, local landmarks, and imaginative holiday themes. A beloved Syracuse tradition that welcomes more than 4,000 guests each year, the Gingerbread Gallery offers fun for all ages. Admission includes full museum access and is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, $5 for children ages 3–17, and free for kids 2 and under. Dickens’ Christmas

Immerse your family in the charm of the season at Dickens Christmas in historic Skaneateles, running weekends from November 28 through December 24. This unique, interactive celebration brings the year 1842 to life, complete with street-theater performances featuring Charles Dickens, Queen Victoria and Washington Irving wandering the village — and plenty of photo ops, caroling at the gazebo, horse-drawn wagon rides, and special events for children. Clinton Square Ice Rink

The Clinton Square Ice Rink first opened in 2001, and has become one of Syracuse’s most popular winter attractions. The rink is open daily until mid-March (hours are weather-dependent), but if you visit during the holiday season, you can take in the city’s Christmas tree as you skate.
