Back-to-school shopping can add up fast, and this year, local Verizon stores in CNY are looking to ease that burden. Round Room, LLC, an authorized Verizon retailer, is bringing its 14th annual “School Rocks Backpack Giveaway” to Central New York on Sunday, July 26, starting at 1 p.m. local time.
The event is part of a nationwide initiative happening at more than 1,200 stores across the country, with over $3 million worth of backpacks up for grabs. Since the giveaway began, Round Room has handed out backpacks to more than 1.5 million kids heading back to school.
Backpacks are free and available on a first-come, first-served basis, with a limit of one per child present. Any backpacks left over after the event will be donated to local schools of each store’s choosing.
