Did you know March is the peak of maple syrup season?

New York State Maple Weekend, which runs from March 21-22 and 28-29, 2026, gives the public an opportunity to celebrate and learn about New York maple sugarmaking processes and traditions. Find family-friendly activities, tours, pancake breakfasts, and more at various locations across New York state at the Maple Weekend website.

Here are a few places you can find the sweet treat (and other maple products) in Central New York.

Bradt Rd Maple
Bradt Rd Maple is a family-run maple syrup farm in Cato offering maple syrup, candy, spreads, BBQ sauce, and many other maple products.
Maple Weekend: Watch live demonstrations, and enjoy a chicken BBQ or pancake breakfast.

Critz Farms
Cazenovia’s Critz Farms makes fresh, pure maple syrup right here on the farm every spring. From mid March to early April when the sap is running, they offer sugar house tours, wagon rides to the sugarbush and more. They also offer family-friendly activities throughout the year.
Maple Weekend: Enjoy a breakfast buffet, take a wagon ride to the sugarbush, learn about production, and sample syrup. Maple syrup, maple popcorn and other maple goodies are available for purchase. Stop at the brewery and cidery tasting room, which serves farm made beer and cider, including Maple Moon hard cider and Maple Porter beer.

Dutch Hill Maple
Dave Williams founded Dutch Hill Maple in 1968 with 15 maple trees. Since then, the number of taps has grown to more than 7,500. Maple syrup, maple crunch, maple BBQ sauce, and maple pops are all available for purchase, but keep in mind, orders must be shipped or picked up.
Maple Weekend: Take a tour, try tasty maple offerings and syrup samples, and shop your favorite maple products. Plus, kids can participate in a scavenger hunt and junior sugarmaker activity.

Red Schoolhouse Maple
Located south of Lake Ontario, Red Schoolhouse Maple produces pure maple syrup. Make sure to also try some of its specialty products, including maple cream, hot maple mustard and sweet maple and apple cider vinaigrette.

Schoolyard Sugarbush
Schoolyard Sugarbush’s name comes from its roots – the business started outside a one-room schoolhouse. Now in its fourth generation, it offers maple sugar, maple candy, and maple cream, along with several grades of its maple syrup.
Maple Weekend: Enjoy maple ice cream, maple popcorn, maple cotton candy, and other tasty maple products – plus, food trucks will be on site. Demonstrations, hayrides (weather permitting), and activities for all ages.

Shaw’s Maple Products
Inspired by a visit to a local high school during Maple Weekend, Shaw’s Maple Products was founded in 2007. Customers can choose from a variety of maple products: cotton candy, popcorn, seasonings, and of course, syrup.

Enjoy a pancake breakfast, sugarhouse tours, samples of syrups and specialty products, and shop their fully stocked on site store.

Skaneateles Sugar Shack
Skaneateles Sugar Shack collects more than 100,000 gallons of sap each year, according to its website, shipping its products all over the world. Stop by its retail space about five miles south of the village to purchase maple syrup, maple cotton candy, maple sugar, and more.

Smokey Hollow Maple Products
Nearly five decades ago, the Hotaling family started making maple syrup with a wash tub and a campfire, eventually turning their hobby into a business in 1986. These days, they use a more modern process, selling everything from maple syrup to maple coated nuts to maple mustard.
Maple Weekend: Enjoy a pancake breakfast, taste maple products like maple popcorn or maplechinos, maple cotton candy, and talk with maple producers.

Swiss Mountain Maple
The Russell family has grown from a small 50-tap hobby in 2022 to nearly 4,000 taps today. Family and tradition come together to craft pure maple syrup and a variety of sweet treats, including maple sugar, cream, candies, and maple floss—all inspired by their loyal Swiss Mountain dogs, Grant and Ernie.

Tibbitts Maple
For five generations, the Tibbitts family has been producing syrup (and other maple treats) in New Hartford. Current products include maple syrup, granulated maple sugar, and maple cream.

Yardley Maple
Joseph Yardley, the founder of Yardley Maple, purchased his first evaporator when he was just 12 years old. Nowadays, the family-owned business taps more than 3,300 maple trees, according to its website, offering maple syrup, maple granulated maple, maple candy, and more.
